Our Name.
Flaptor was a mythological creature, half man, half dolphin. He was said to possess great wisdom and judgement as well as unparalleled inner beauty. He inhabited the unexplored depths of the ocean, long before the advent of our civilization. Among his many talents and virtues, he was able to answer any question ever asked to him so long as the answer was 42. He was also very tasty when served as sashimi or in maki rolls with avocado and cream cheese.
Actually, we liked the way it sounded and the domain was available.
Our Management.
DIEGO BASCH, FOUNDER & CEO
Mr. Basch was a Senior Engineer at Inktomi Search (now part of Yahoo!), where he wrote one of the first multimedia search engines and made numerous contributions to the crawler and indexer.
He also worked with many other search engines, and holds an Electrical Engineer degree from the University of Buenos Aires and a Masters in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
